A survey, conducted by Taylor Wessing LLP, has confirmed, amongst other things, that arbitration is the overall preferred method of dispute resolution and that the SCC is the most keenly supported arbitration institution amongst its users, followed by the LCIA.
The law firm Taylor Wessing LLP has conducted a survey identifying current trends and attitudes in dispute resolution. The results of the survey, set out in a report, confirm, amongst other things, that arbitration is the overall preferred method of dispute resolution – it is perceived as either quicker, cheaper or more reliable than litigation - and that the majority of the respondents expect an increase in the number of disputes during the coming year. The survey also showed that the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) is the most keenly supported arbitration institution amongst its users, followed by the LCIA. Ad hoc arbitration has been placed as the sixth preferred option out of thirteen. The report is based on answers from over 300 arbitration users worldwide.
