Amended versions of certain Loan Market Association (LMA) loan trading documents went live on 24 March 2011. The documents had been amended in February 2011 and posted to the "Pending Documentation" page of the LMA website (see Legal update, LMA loan trading documents amended) but have now been placed on the "Secondary Debt Trading Documentation" page.
The following amended documents have gone live:
  • Explanatory memorandum, dated 24 February 2011.
  • Secondary Trading Documentation User Guide.
  • Standard Terms and Conditions for Par and Distressed Trade Transactions.
  • Various types of the following LMA documents:
    • trade confirmations;
    • assignment agreements;
    • participation agreements; and
    • confidentiality letters and undertakings.
The documents form part of a suite of loan trading documents which the LMA launched in January 2010 (see Legal update, LMA launches its new and revised loan trading documents).
The documents, explanatory memorandum and user guide are available from the members' area of the LMA website.
For an overview of the secondary debt market, see Practice note, Understanding the syndicated loan market.
