This Law Firm Publication by Foley Hoag LLP discusses the Temporary Workers' Right to Know Act, which was recently enacted by the Massachusetts legislature. Effective January 31, 2013, the new law requires staffing agencies to provide temporary employees with specific information about each of their work assignments, including a description of the position, designated pay days and the hourly rate of pay, as well as the name, address and telephone number of the staffing agency and the work site employer. The law also prohibits staffing agencies and work site employers from deducting any costs or fees from an employee's wages without express written authorization.
