This Law Firm Publication by Jackson Lewis P.C. discusses Tacoma, Washington's passage of the Tacoma Paid Leave Ordinance. The law allows employees to accrue one hour of paid sick time per 40 hours worked to use for illness, injury or care for themselves or family members. The sick time can also be used for bereavement for a family member or to deal with issues concerning domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking. The ordinance is effective February 1, 2016.
