Equity Security Holder

In bankruptcy, the holder of a debtor's equity security, including:
  • A share in a corporation, such as stock.
  • A warrant or right (other than a right to convert) to purchase, sell or subscribe to a share in a corporation or an interest in an LP.
An equity security holder can file a proof of interest in a bankruptcy case and vote to accept or reject the debtor's plan of reorganization.
