Disaster recovery

An area of security planning that aims to protect an organisation from the effects of substantial negative events. Disaster recovery planning allows an organisation to maintain or quickly resume critical functions following a disaster, including regaining access to data, hardware, software, networking equipment, power, and connectivity. It may also extend to logistical issues where facilities are also damaged or destroyed, including the movement to alternative work locations, communications restorations, or sourcing office equipment such as desks and computers for employees.
