Medium term note (MTN)

A type of debt security, which, despite its name, can have a maturity of any length.
Medium term notes are usually issued under a medium term note (MTN) programme, which is a set of master documents containing standard terms and conditions and other contractual provisions required to issue notes at any time. Under a programme notes can be issued quickly and easily using only short supplements to the master set of documents.
