On 9 November 2009, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) Antitrust Division (Division) issued a statement regarding its investigation of Oracle Corporation's (Oracle) proposed acquisition of Sun Microsystems Inc. (Sun). The Division's statement was released by Deputy Assistant Attorney General Molly Boast the day after the European Commission issued a statement of objections in connection with the proposed transaction.
