This Kelley Drye & Warren LLP memorandum discusses H.R. 2715, a new consumer products law. H.R. 2715 addresses some of the inadequacies of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA) while simultaneously granting more enforcement authority to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The law makes changes to third-party testing requirements, the CPSIA's lead and phthalates limits, tracking labels and the Publicly Available Consumer Product Safety Information Database.
