Montenegro signs ICSID convention

Montenegro has signed the ICSID convention.
On 19 July 2012, the ICSID convention was signed on behalf of Montenegro by His Excellency Dr. Srdjan Darmanovi, Ambassador of Montenegro to the United States. The signing ceremony was attended by World Bank and ICSID officials and staff. This brings the number of states that have signed the ICSID Convention to 159. Of these, 148 states have also deposited their instruments of ratification, acceptance or approval.
On 25 July 2012, Venezuela's exit from the ICSID Convention took effect, six months after its written notice of denunciation (see Legal update, Venezuela withdraws from ICSID).
