On 29 April 2013, the First-tier Tribunal (Information Rights) ruled that the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) must disclose copies of the actual receipts submitted by MPs claiming expenses. IPSA was not permitted to simply disclose information extracted from the receipts in reliance on section 11(4) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. (Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority v Information Commissioner and another (EA/2012/0242) UKFTT [2013] 2012_0242 (GRC).)
