The SEC's Investor Advisory Committee will hold a public meeting on January 31, 2014 to discuss, among other things, decimalization and crowdfunding.
On January 13, 2014, the SEC announced that its Investor Advisory Committee, established under the Dodd-Frank Act, will hold a public meeting on January 31, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. (EST). The meeting will be webcast on the SEC's website and will be open to the public except during portions of the meeting reserved for meetings of the committee's subcommittees.
The agenda for the meeting includes, among other things:
  • A recommendation from the Market Structure Subcommittee and the Investor as Purchaser Subcommittee regarding decimalization, which is the trading and quoting of public equity securities in the US in one cent increments (or tick-sizes).
  • A discussion of crowdfunding.
The SEC is accepting written statements from the public until January 31, 2014.
