An overview of the regulatory regime governing patent in China. The Note highlights the reasons and considerations for patent protection and the ownership of inventions. It discusses patent filing, marking and exploitation as well as patent infringement and the enforcement actions under China's Patent Law. It also summarises the material changes in the revised Patent Law in 2020 in comparison with the prior version.
