On December 11, 2014, the SEC announced the agenda for an upcoming meeting of its Advisory Committee on Small and Emerging Companies, which is scheduled to take place on December 17, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. (EST). The committee was set up to provide a formal mechanism for the SEC to receive advice and recommendations specifically related to privately-held small businesses and smaller publicly-traded companies.
The meeting will focus on the definition of accredited investor and will feature presentations on issues surrounding the accredited investor definition from David M. Certner, Legislative Counsel and Legislative Policy Director, AARP, and Marianne Hudson, Executive Director, Angel Capital Association.
Members of the public may submit comments to the advisory committee in advance of the meeting.
