This note considers a security provider's rights to recover assets over which it has granted security. It explains the equity of redemption and the rule that there must be no clogs on the equity of redemption, giving some examples of such clogs. The note also considers collateral advantages and how the right to redeem can be affected by a lender's right to consolidate.
