Trustee in bankruptcy

Either the Official Receiver ( www.practicallaw.com/A36147) or an insolvency practitioner ( www.practicallaw.com/A35386) who is appointed as trustee of a bankrupt's estate following the making of a bankruptcy order against an insolvent individual. The trustee's statutory function is to get in and realise the estate and then distribute it to the creditors ( www.practicallaw.com/2-379-0852) according to the Insolvency Act 1986 and Insolvency Rules 1986. The bankrupt's estate vests automatically in the trustee on appointment.
