Code of practice
In the context of employment law, Codes of Practice are issued from time to time by official and government agencies. Examples of such Codes of Practice are:
Failure by an employer to act in accordance with a Code of Practice does not of itself render them liable to proceedings, but such failure is admissible in evidence before an employment tribunal which may take it into account in determining any claim before them, such as whether a claimant has been unfairly dismissed or has suffered unlawful discrimination.
