The original name for a new trust-based defined contribution (DC) occupational pension scheme, to be introduced in 2012 and now known as NEST. Eligible jobholders will be automatically enrolled in NEST, with the choice to opt out, if their employer does not provide access to a suitable qualifying alternative scheme. The Personal Accounts Delivery Authority (PADA) advises the DWP on setting up the scheme, and an independent trustee board, the NEST Corporation, will run the scheme from 2012.
