Fluorocarbon

A type of organic compound believed to contribute to climate change by impacting the ozone layer in a manner that allows increased levels of harmful solar radiation reach the Earth. Fluorocarbons were formerly used as propellents in aerosol containers but are now most commonly found in coolants. Hydrocarbons and chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) are other organic compounds also believed to contribute to global warming.
