Criteria Air Pollutant

As regulated under National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), six air pollutants the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has designated as hazardous to human health. The EPA has set maximum legally allowable concentrations for these six pollutants:
  • Nitrogen oxide.
  • Lead.
  • Sulfur dioxide.
  • Total suspended particulates.
  • Carbon monoxide.
  • Ozone.
