DOJ clears Amcor's acquisition of Alcan's medical flexible packaging business with divestiture | Practical Law

On 10 June 2010, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that it had reached a proposed settlement that would allow the acquisition by the Australian-based global packaging company, Amcor Ltd. (Amcor), of Alcan Packaging's Medical Flexibles (Alcan Packaging) business from Rio Tinto plc to proceed. The settlement requires the divestiture of Alcan Packaging's plant in North Carolina (which produces all of its vented bags for medical use).
