On 7 July 2011, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) announced a non-prosecution agreement reached with JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPMorgan) in connection with the DOJ's investigation of anti-competitive conduct in the municipal bond investments market. The terms of the agreement include the admission of conduct, monetary and non-monetary commitments to and cooperation with various agencies, and remedial efforts to address the anti-competitive conduct. The contracts at issue concerned bond issuances by public entities, including municipalities, and the investment of proceeds or management of risks pertaining to them.
