This summer, the National Arbitration Chamber was created in Russia, with the main goal of developing and supporting commercial arbitration in different regions of Russia. At present, nine regional arbitration courts and institutions are members of the Chamber. The future plan is that all regions of Russia will have representatives in the Chamber.
The creation of the National Arbitration Chamber is a good sign that ADR in Russia is becoming more and more popular, and that now is a good time to develop the regional arbitration courts. In accordance with its Charter, the National Arbitration Chamber has arranged informational, methodological, technical and other assistance to arbitration courts and institutions. It is hoped that this organisation will become a significant centre of arbitration and will assist in promoting and improving arbitration proceedings in Russia.
