The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued a revised version of the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Manual of Procedure (TBMP).
The USPTO has released the June 2014 version of the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) Manual of Procedure (TBMP). The TBMP provides information and guidance for litigating cases before the TTAB. Though focused primarily on opposition and cancellation proceedings, it also includes information on interference proceedings, concurrent use proceedings, and ex parte appeals of trademark examining attorney actions to the TTAB.
For the period March 1, 2013 to February 28, 2014, the June 2014 revision reflects relevant:
  • Amendments to the Lanham Act, the Trademark Rules of Practice, and the Federal Rules.
  • References to TTAB, US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit or other federal court cases.
