The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) has released Draft Special Publication 800-150, Guide to Cyber Threat Information Sharing and seeks public comments.
On October 28, 2014, the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) announced that it has published Draft Special Publication 800-150, Guide to Cyber Threat Information Sharing (Guide). In furtherance of the NIST's statutory responsibilities under the Federal Information Security Management Act, the Guide aims to:
  • Assist organizations in establishing computer security incident response capabilities that leverage the collective knowledge, experience and abilities of their partners by actively sharing threat intelligence and ongoing coordination.
  • Provide guidelines for coordinated incident handling.
  • Provide guidance that improves the efficiency and effectiveness of defensive cyber operations and incident response activities.
