This Legal Update reports on significant changes to the local rules and procedures for all US federal district courts and appellate courts between April 29 and May 5, 2015. It also reports on changes to the individual practice rules for the judges in select district courts during this period.

Southern District of New York

Northern District of Illinois
The US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois updated its local rules, creating two new rules:
Judge John Robert Blakey posted new instructions regarding dismissal of cases pursuant to settlement.
Southern District of Illinois

Ninth Circuit
Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals
The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit posted a new form for notice of appearance of counsel or re-assignment of counsel within the same office.
District of Alaska
The US District Court for the District of Alaska posted General Order No. 15-04, regarding the deposit and investment of registry funds.
Central District of California
The US District Court for the Central District of California:
- Posted a new form for notice of appearance or withdrawal of counsel.
- Amended several of its Local Civil Rules, and attached a redline of the changes. The new rules will become effective June 1, 2015.
Northern District of California

Western District of Oklahoma
