On 18 January 2008, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced revisions to the jurisdictional thresholds for the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 (HSR Act) and the prohibitions of interlocking directorates under section 8 of the Clayton Act (Section 8). The revisions were made in accordance with the statutory requirement that the FTC revise the thresholds annually based on changes in the gross national product.
