This Law Firm Publication by Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C., discusses HB 1270, a new law effective July 14, 2012, which requires New Hampshire employers to provide job applicants with non-compete and non-piracy agreements either before or at the time they offer them a job or a change in their job classification. The law voids any agreements that are not entered into in compliance with the law. It is intended to protect employees from discovering after accepting a job or a promotion that they must sign restrictive covenants.
