Facility equipment that switches, changes, or regulates electric voltage. When electricity is generated at a power plant, it is delivered to a substation where its voltage is increased to match the voltage of the transmission grid. Before the electricity is delivered to a retail customer it is delivered to another substation where the voltage is decreased to match the voltage of the distribution grid.
