Practical Law Arbitration in association with Selborne Chambers are holding a free breakfast seminar on drafting complex arbitration clauses on 22 October 2013. (Free access.)
The scope for time-consuming litigation over the validity of arbitration agreements is well-known and is particularly apparent in the case of contracts with an international element or those containing complex hybrid clauses. Practical Law Arbitration, in association with Selborne Chambers, would like to invite you to our free breakfast seminar Arbitration Agreements: Are you getting the best deal? on Tuesday 22 October 2013. The event is free to all Practical Law subscribers.
At this seminar, Ajmalul Hossain QC and Richard Clegg will discuss the issues that need to be considered when drafting such clauses. They will focus in particular on recent decisions on the validity of unilateral option clauses in different jurisdictions, and on choice of governing law, following a spate of English decisions on the point.
Both speakers are barristers at Selborne Chambers. Ajmalul Hossain QC has experience both as counsel and as an arbitrator in international and investment treaty arbitration. Richard Clegg is recognised in the Legal 500 as a "Leading Junior" in international arbitration and acts as counsel in international and investment treaty arbitration.
