EPO Enlarged Board rules on examination of patent amendments for clarity | Practical Law

The Enlarged Board of Appeals of the European Patent Office has ruled that, in opposition proceedings where there has been an amendment to the claims, the amended patent may only be examined for compliance with the requirements of Article 84 European Patent Convention when, and to the extent that, the amendment introduces non-compliance with these requirements.
