A freezing injunction or freezing order prohibits a party from disposing of, or dealing with, his assets. Freezing injunctions were previously called mareva injunctions and some authors continue to use this term. This practice note provides an overview of the scope and effect of freezing orders and practical guidance on how to obtain, enforce and challenge a freezing order.
