The SEC will hold a staff roundtable on February 5, 2013 to evaluate the impact of tick sizes on the securities markets.
On February 5, 2013, the SEC will hold a staff roundtable from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to discuss the impact of tick sizes on small and mid-sized companies, market professionals, investors and the US securities markets. The roundtable arises out of SEC staff recommendations in a report released in July that focused on the effects of decimalization on initial public offerings and liquidity of small and middle capitalization company securities, as required by Section 106 of the JOBS Act. Decimalization is the trading and quoting of public equity securities in the US in one cent increments (or tick-sizes). In the early 2000s, the US securities markets shifted to decimalization.
The SEC also announced its agenda for the roundtable.
