The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has released new and revised E-Verify Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), effective December 8, 2013 for new users and January 8, 2014 for existing users.
On December 8, 2013, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) released new and revised E-Verify Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs). The new and revised MOUs are tailored to users of two access methods: the E-Verify browser and Web Services. According to USCIS, the new and revised MOUs feature improved language and organization, and include several updated provisions such as enhanced privacy protections and instructions for reporting privacy and security breaches.
Effective December 8, 2013, new users are required to execute the new or revised versions of the MOU that applies to their access method during enrollment. Effective January 8, 2014, existing users will be bound by the enhancements to the E-Verify program including the new or revised MOU that applies to their access method. Existing users will not need to execute a new MOU and the enrollment process for existing users has not changed.
E-Verify will host two stakeholder teleconferences to give an overview and answer questions about the new and revised MOUs on December 11 and 12, 2013.
