The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) published "Smarter Data": Plans to simplify information requests, on 9 April 2014, which reports on work under Phase 1 of its Smarter Environmental Regulation Review (SERR Phase 1), launched in 2012. On the same day, Defra published Terms of Reference for Smarter Environmental Legislation (part of SERR Phase 2).
