Developments that may be of interest to arbitration practitioners for the week to 22 June 2016.
We report in brief below on other developments that may be of interest to arbitration practitioners:
  • Following elections in Sao Paulo during a meeting of the World Council, the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) appointed 16 new members from 14 countries to serve two year terms commencing on 1 July 2016.
  • On 15 June 2016, the Mumbai Centre of International Arbitration (MCIA) launched the MCIA Rules, which came into force on the same day. The rules are suitable for both domestic and international arbitrations and include provisions on consolidation of proceedings, appointment of an emergency arbitrator, procedure for expedited arbitration and scrutiny of awards.
