Director

A person elected by the members of a company or otherwise appointed to superintend the management of the company's affairs.
Although company directors are not strictly speaking trustees, they are in a closely analogous position because of the fiduciary duties they typically owe to the company. For more information, see Practice notes, Fiduciary duties and Directors' duties: directors' general duties under the Companies Act 2006.
Under section 250 of the Companies Act 2006, the term "director" includes, for the purposes of the Companies Acts (as defined in section 2 of that Act), any person occupying the position of director, by whatever name called.
For a note on different types of director, see Practice note, Types of director: overview.
