This note analyses current market practice on shareholder resolutions authorising share buybacks. It contains the text of a resolution that takes maximum advantage of the price restrictions in the Listing Rules. It also contains a table with details of share buybacks announced by a selection of companies with shares admitted to the Official List of the London Stock Exchange since 1 January 2007. The table sets out the formula used to determine the maximum price payable and the maximum percentage of issued share capital that each company is authorised to buy back.
