On 5 November 2008, the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that Google Inc. (Google) and Yahoo! Inc. (Yahoo!) abandoned their internet search advertising agreement after the DOJ informed them that it would file an enforcement action to stop the parties from implementing the proposed agreement.
