This Note outlines the eligibility requirements, duties, and liabilities for trustees as set out in the Trust Indenture Act of 1939. In addition, this Note discusses the obligations of the issuer, rights of the securityholders, supplemental indentures, exemptions for Canadian issuers, and special considerations for automatic shelf registrations.
