Following the implementation of the Arbitration (Scotland) Act 2010, the newly formed Scottish Arbitration Centre has been launched.
The Scottish Arbitration Centre has opened in Edinburgh, following the implementation of the Arbitration (Scotland) Act 2010, which came into force on 7 June 2010 (see Legal update, Scottish and Irish Arbitration Acts enter into force). The Centre is a joint initiative of the:
  • Scottish government.
  • Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
  • Law Society of Scotland.
  • Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Scotland.
  • Faculty of Advocates.
The Centre's aim is to promote the use of arbitration in Scotland and to advertise itself as a venue for international arbitration proceedings.
