This note sets out how to form and register the two types of industrial and provident society; the community benefit society and the co-operative society under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1965. The note describes the rights of members and directors of such societies, the capital requirements for a society, the conversion process from a society to a limited company and the dissolution process.
