The SEC updated its EDGAR Filer Manual.
On May 14, 2013, the SEC issued a final rule adopting revisions to Volumes I and II of the EDGAR Filer Manual. Changes include:
  • EDGAR will be updated to convert Form 13F to an online form. Form 13F may only be filed using the new online version available on the EDGAR Filing Website or a version constructed by filers according to the new "EDGAR Form 13F XML Technical Specification" document.
  • The SEC will no longer pursue its existing project of modifying the method of filing Form N-SAR from a DOS-based application to an XML application. References to the new application will be removed from the revised Filer Manual.
  • EDGAR will be updated to support the US GAAP 2013 Taxonomy. EDGAR will no longer support the US GAAP 2011 Taxonomy.
