Effective February 17, 2014, the monetary threshold for cases filed in the Commercial Division of New York State Supreme Court, New York County (Manhattan), will increase to $500,000, from $150,000.

Effective February 17, 2014, the monetary threshold for cases filed in the Commercial Division of New York State Supreme Court, New York County (Manhattan), will increase to $500,000, from $150,000.
Effective February 17, 2014, the monetary threshold for cases filed in the Commercial Division of New York State Supreme Court, New York County (Manhattan), will increase to $500,000. Cases in which the amount in controversy falls below the threshold will continue to be heard by non-commercial division parts of the court. The threshold, which is currently $150,000, was last increased in 2009.
The monetary threshold for commercial divisions in other counties will remain the same:
  • Albany County: $25,000.
  • Kings County (Brooklyn): $75,000.
  • Nassau County: $100,000.
  • Onodaga County: $25,000.
  • Queens County: $50,000.
  • Suffolk County: $50,000.
  • Westchester County: $100,000.
  • Seventh Judicial District (Cayuga, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne and Yates Counties): $50,000.
  • Eighth Judicial District (Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming Counties): $50,000.
