The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has released a draft model for federal information technology and cybersecurity training.
On March 14, 2014, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) published a draft version of A Role-Based Model for Federal Information Technology/Cybersecurity Training, which describes information technology/cybersecurity role-based training for federal organizations and contractors. Primarily, the guide provides comprehensive and flexible training methods for federal organizations to use when developing training courses or modules for information technology/cybersecurity personnel. The NIST advises this high-level guide can be read, reviewed and understood by organizational heads, including:
  • IT Managers.
  • Senior Agency Information Security Officers.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Officers.
  • Information Systems Security Officers.
  • Information Assurance Managers.
  • Program Managers.
