A Practice Note discussing the 2006 American Land Title Association (ALTA) owner's and lender's title insurance policies that are used in commercial real estate transactions. This Note explains the coverage, exclusions from coverage, and other provisions of these policies. While title policies are primarily governed by state laws, and although not all title policies are issued on ALTA forms, the information contained in this Note is useful and relevant for title policies in every state.
