The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has made enhancements to the Electronic Trademark Assignment System (ETAS).
On July 28, 2014, the USPTO issued a press release announcing recent enhancements to the Electronic Trademark Assignment System (ETAS), which include:
  • Two new conveyance types added to the cover sheet, namely:
    • entity conversion; and
    • merger and change of name.
  • The ability to identify the order for multiple transactions with the same execution date.
  • An ETAS resubmission form which lets a filer who receives a Notice of Non-Recordation electronically correct any omission or mistake on the originally submitted cover sheet.
  • Notification about the unauthorized use of ETAS which requires a filer to verify that he is aware that the unauthorized use of ETAS is prohibited.
