USPTO Announces Enhancements to Electronic Trademark Assignment System (ETAS)

The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has made enhancements to the Electronic Trademark Assignment System (ETAS).
On July 28, 2014, the USPTO issued a press release announcing recent enhancements to the Electronic Trademark Assignment System (ETAS), which include:
- Two new conveyance types added to the cover sheet, namely:
- entity conversion; and
- merger and change of name.
- The ability to identify the order for multiple transactions with the same execution date.
- An ETAS resubmission form which lets a filer who receives a Notice of Non-Recordation electronically correct any omission or mistake on the originally submitted cover sheet.
- Notification about the unauthorized use of ETAS which requires a filer to verify that he is aware that the unauthorized use of ETAS is prohibited.
