This article looks at employee benefits that are affected by China's two-child policy which took effect from 1 January 2016. The article includes tables setting out the specific local entitlements to marriage leave, maternity leave and paternity leave in 14 provinces and municipalities including Guangdong, Shenzhen, Tianjin, Zhejiang, Hubei, Anhui, Shanxi, Jiangxi, Ningxia, Sichuan, Shandong, Fujian, Guangxi and Shanghai. The article also considers issues of employment protection, termination rights for policy breaches and other special protection measures for female employees.
