Alessandro Varrenti

Alessandro Varrenti is a partner at CBA Studio Legale e Tributario, with vast experience in corporate M&A, private equity, real estate finance and international contracts in general. He was admitted to the Rome Bar in 1981, and admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Cassation in Italy in 2001.

He has acted as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Private Law Institutions (1980-1981) and Civil Law (1985-1986) at Rome University, and has been a Faculty of Law Lecturer, EFLIT (courses in M&A, contracts and corporate law) in collaboration with Parma University since 2006. He is currently a professor of law of Public Finance at the University of Pescara "G. D'Annunzio". He is also the author of various articles, publications and books (principally in English) dealing with mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buy-outs and the protection of minority shareholders.

He speaks English, French and Spanish. His professional associations/memberships include the International Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and he is a former member of the Executive Committee of ASLA (association of law firms organised as a partnership in Italy).

 

Fernando de las Cuevas

Fernando de las Cuevas is a partner at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo Abogados, S.L.P., who specialises in banking law, securities market law, collective investment institutions, mergers and acquisitions, and family and private equity businesses.

He has acted as a lecturer on both the Financial Markets Specialisation Course (Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles) and the Masters Degree in Corporate Legal Consulting (ICADE). He is also the correspondent in Spain for the Journal of International Banking Law and World Securities Law Report, and author of numerous articles, publications and books within his specialist fields.

He speaks Spanish, English and French. His professional associations/memberships include the Madrid Bar Association (since 1983), World Securities Law Review Board (APCIMS-EASD Legal and Tax Committee), IBA (Committees E, I and Q), ICA (Standards Committee Membership) and the Circulo de Empresarios.
