1	European Commission publishes MiFID II legislative ... The European Commission has published legislative proposals to amend the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (2004/39/EC). The proposals (referred to as MiFID II) consist of a Directive and a Regulation. They are intended to make financial markets more efficient, resilient and transparent, strengthen investor protection, increase the supervisory powers of regulators and provide clear operating rules for all trading activities.
